Toxicity of Antiseptics

[摘要] The simplification of the procedure for determining the relative toxicity of germicides by the use of hemolytic complement has not been found possible by these studies.By the use of certain germicidal solutions it is possible to separate hemolytic complement from those components of plasma which bring about rapid phagocytosis.The contention of Ward and Enders that human complement cannot increase the absolute capacity of a serum to promote phagocytosis has been confirmed by a different technic with guinea pig complement.
