Studies of the Early Stage of Resistance to Pneumococcic Infection

[摘要] 1. 1. There occurs in rabbits an early stage of hypersensitiveness to pneumococcic nucleoprotein, appearing simultaneously with the early stage of resistance to pneumococcic infection.2. 2. Both the early hypersensitivity and the resistance to infection are induced by the same method of treatment, namely, intracutaneous injection of a single dose of whole, heat-killed pneumococci.3. 3. Both of these responses appear within 72 hours following a single sensitizing injection.
