The Production of Antibody by Partially Hepatectomized Rats

[摘要] 1. 1. The amounts of sheep-cell hemolysin produced by partially hepatectomized rats, laparotomized rats, and normal controls 6 days following the intravenous injection of a suspension of sheep cells were determined.2. 2. No observable difference was found in the responses of the two control groups; however, the partially hepatectomized rats produced antibody in amounts that were significantly greater statistically than the amounts produced by the controls.3. 3. The augmented synthesis of antibody by the partially hepatectomized rats suggests the possibility that some specific stimulus associated with removal of a large portion of the liver or its subsequent regeneration might have been operative.
