Opsonic Factors in Normal and Immune Sera in the Differential Phagocytosis of Normal, Trypsinized and Virus-Treated Human and Rabbit Erythrocytes by Macrophages in Tissue Culture
[摘要] Maximum erythrophagocytosis with normal serum required heat-stable, specific, absorbable factors and complement. Quantitative and qualitative aspects of complement were demonstrated. The opsonic action of specific antibody was increased in the presence of complement. Complement appeared to have no effect on the specificity or absolute degree of the opsonic reaction in immune serum, but only on the rate of phagocytosis.
