Activity of Hexenolactone against Salmonella Enteritidis in Mice

[摘要] 1. 1. The toxicity of hexenolactone as measured by the L.D.50 for 14 to 18 gram white mice on intraabdominal injection was 4.69 mg.2. 2. Single injections of 1 mg of hexenolactone gave significant protection for 14 to 18 gram white mice against 100,000 cells of Salmonella enteritidis . Protection was demonstrated even after a 12 hour lapse between the injection of the organisms and the hexenolactone.
