Relation of the Adrenal Glands to Immunological Processes

[摘要] 1. 1. The administration of cortico-adrenal extract to normal rats, immunized with a single injection of sheep cells produces an increase of 60 to 70 per cent in the hemolysin titers over those of control rats.2. 2. The prolonged administration of cortico-adrenal extract to rabbits immunized with repeated injections of large doses of sheep cells, results in an increased titer, especially marked during the early stages of the immunization process. The rabbits receiving the extract maintain their body weights and general body growth. The cortical extract had no effect on the leucocyte count in the blood of the immunized rabbits.3. 3. The significance of the stimulation in the immunological response produced by the extract, is discussed.
