The Disintegration of Bacteria by Mechanical Means

[摘要] 1. 1. A comparison has been made of bacterial filtrates prepared by mechanical disintegration by the low-temperature ball mill, and “sonic” oscillator on the one hand, and conventional heatkilled bacterial suspensions on the other. The standard for comparison has been intensity of intracutaneous reaction in skin-sensitive individuals.2. 2. No significant differences in cutaneous reactivity have been observed in this small series when the total nitrogen of the injected material was used for a basis of quantitative standardization.
