Blood Groups and MN-Types of Eskimos in East Greenland

[摘要] Theories concerning the origin of the Eskimos in East Greenland are briefly surveyed.A report is given of the results of blood-grouping and M-N tests on 569 pure Eskimos in East Greenland (Angmagssalik district). The percentile frequencies of groups O, A, B and AB were 23.9, 56.2, 11.2, and 8.7, respectively. The frequencies of types M, MN, and N were 83.48, 15.64, and 0.88, respectively.These values are discussed in relation to previous findings by other authors in races that may be looked upon as related to the Eskimos.
