Cellular Kinetics of Phagocytic Cells in Immunized X-Irradiated Mice

[摘要] A large number of phagocytic cells were found in clusters in the water-in-oil emulsion injected into mice subcutaneously. Studies on the effect of x-radiation indicated that the migratory capacity of phagocytic cells was not affected by irradiation but the proliferation of these cells was depressed, and that the phagocytosis appeared to be enhanced transiently. The radiosensitivity of the antibody response seems likely to be related to the reduction of the total amount of antigen ingested by phagocytic cells.
