Interruption of Macroglobulin Synthesis in Mice by Exposure to X-Rays

[摘要] Mice were exposed to 500 r whole-body x-irradiation 3 days after a single intraperitoneal injection of formalin-treated influenza virus. Postirradiation HI antibody levels were temporarily lower than preirradiation titers, but returned to normal levels by the end of the 2nd week after vaccination. The explanation for the decrease seems to be that x-irradiation 3 days after vaccination interrupted the synthesis of macroglobulin antibodies and delayed the appearance of 7s γ-globulin antibodies.
