Decreased Antigenicity of Coupled Hapten-Protein Antigen Resulting from Treatment with Too Much Hapten

[摘要] Conjugated protein-arsanilic acid antigens prepared by using six times the theoretical amount of diazotized arsanilic acid proved to be markedly inferior as antigens and no one of thirty rabbits injected with such an antigen produced more than a trace of anti-arsanilic antibody. Antigens prepared in the usual way were successful, sometimes even in animals which had failed even after a long period of injection to respond to the supersaturated antigen.
