Interaction of Pneumococcus 2 and B. Friedländer B. Antigen with Horse- and Rabbit-Antibodies

[摘要] 1. 1). Rabbit antipneumococcal sera have been shown to enter into all cross-reactions previously observed with horse-antisera in the pneumococcus type 2 and BFB system.2. 2). It was found that the horse-antisera studied were 15 to 30 times more active than the rabbit-sera in this cross-reaction when equal amounts (in terms of mouse-protective units) of antibody were compared.3. 3). Absorptive experiments using “pure” antibody preparations are described and the relation of the results to the theories of cross-reactions is discussed.
