Schultz-Dale Studies with Intestinal Strips of Passively and Actively Sensitized Rhesus Monkeys

[摘要] 1. 1. It has not been possible to demonstrate by the Schultz-Dale technic that the smooth muscle of the monkey can be passively sensitized with human sera containing reagins in extremely high titer or with rabbit sera of high precipitintiter.2. 2. In monkeys that presumably were actively sensitized to egg-white, the Schultz-Dale technic failed to reveal any evidence of smooth-muscle sensitization.3. 3. Experimental evidence is still lacking that smooth muscle is the shock-tissue in bronchial asthma or in other manifestations of supersensitiveness in human beings.
