Clinical Immunology: Meeting Report of the Committee on Hospital-Based Laboratory and Clinical Immunology of the American Association of Immunologists, 1975

[摘要] The Committee on Hospital-based Laboratory and Clinical Immunology had been charged by the Council of the American Association of Immunologists with the task of defining clinical immunology, determining the scope of clinical and laboratory immunology activities within a hospital setting, and exploring the scientific and practical advantages inherent in the creation of Clinical Immunology Units. The deliberations of the Committee were influenced by the growth of immunology during the past 20 years from a discipline concerned with immunity to infectious diseases, into a science concerned with the characteristics and effects of the immune response per se . The science of immunology has been rapidly applied to problems in human biology and pathology, and as a consequence, applied immunology has had a significant impact on all aspects of medical practice.
