Bacterial Protein-Free Bacteriophage Prepared by Tryptic Digestion

[摘要] The antigenic bacterial proteins can be removed from bacteriophage by digesting with trypsin.Bacteriophage is not damaged by tryptic digestion.Bacterial protein-free trypsinized phage injected into rabbits does not increase their resistance to a lethal dose of the homologous bacteria used in the propagation of the phage.The only antibodies produced, when bacteriophage is used as an antigen, are antilytic or neutralizing antibodies.
