The Egg-White Inhibitor of Influenza Virus Hemagglutination
[摘要] The progressive reduction in slope of the inhibition curve which occurs when EW inhibitor is treated with certain influenza viruses has been explained on the hypothesis that individual molecules of inhibitor undergo a progressive loss of affinity for virus. Evidence is presented that the modified (weak) inhibitor is a product of the enzymatic action of virus, with the significance of an intermediate in the conversion of fully active to fully inactive inhibitor. Possible alternative hypotheses are discussed.
