Antigenic Potency in Man of the Specific Polysaccharides of Types I and V Pneumococcus and Their Products of Alkaline Degradation

[摘要] Degradation of S I and S V by means of sodium hydroxide until only 40 and 20 per cent, respectively, of their specific precipitating potencies are retained fails to affect markedly their antigenic properties in man. There is possibly a slight enhancing effect in the case of S I.
