Heterologous Strain Immunity in Experimental Syphilis

Quantitative techniques previously employed to measure homologous strain immunity in experimental syphilis have been extended to the measurement of heterologous strain immunity among three strains of Treponema pallidum in the rabbit.2. 2. Definite heterologous strain immunity has been shown to be developed three months after immunizing infection. The greatest immunity developed following infection with the most virulent (Nichols) strain of organism.
