Studies of the Capsular Substance of Torula Histolytica and the Immunologic Properties of Torula Cells

[摘要] A method for the isolation of the capsular substance of Torula histolytica has been described. This material appears to be a polysaccharide and is non-antigenic for rabbits and mice. No demonstrable serologic response or skin sensitivity occurred in rabbits and mice injected with living cells, heat-killed cells, phenol-killed cells, and decapsulated cells.
