Chemotherapeutic Effect of Acridine Compounds in Experimental Rickettsial Infections in Embryonated Eggs

[摘要] 2,3-dimethoxy-6-nitro-9(diethyl-amino-hydroxy-propyl-amino) acridine-dibydrochloride, nitroakridin 3582, and an arsenical salt of this compound, rutenol, have a chemotherapeutic effect in embryonated eggs infected with R. prowazeki, R. mooseri, D. rickettsi and R. orientalis . Two other acridines, namely 2-amino-5-nitro-acridine and acriflavine also appear to have some rickettsiostatic effect.
