The Mixed Leukocyte Culture: A Three Component System

[摘要] The mixed leukocyte culture reaction is a proliferative reaction in which two cell types appear to perform three functions. The cell which proliferates requires the collaboration of a non-proliferating, supporting cell. The contribution of the latter is non-rate-limiting when added above a threshold concentration. Its role is probably nonspecific. The third function, i.e., the capacity to provoke a reaction, is shared by both cell types.
