The Nature of the Reaction of Antigen with Lymphocytes from Rabbits Infected with Schistosoma Mansoni on the Release of Histamine from Rabbit Platelets

[摘要] The antigen-induced histamine release from rabbit platelets by interaction with leukocytes from rabbits infected with Schistosoma mansoni can be divided experimentally into two distinct steps. The first involves the reaction of lymphocytes with antigen; the second, the interaction of the activated leukocytes with platelets resulting in histamine release from the platelets. The nature of the reaction of antigen with sensitized lymphocytes to produce an activated cell was studied. The effects of time, temperature, divalent cations and viability on the rate and extent of activation suggest a complex sequence of changes in the lymphocyte which results in an activated cell.
