Structural and Antigenic Relationships Between Avian Immunoglobulins

[摘要] Ring-necked pheasants, Japanese quail and chickens have 7S immunoglobulins that are antigenically related to each other. It was demonstrated that the cross-reactions were due to similar antigenic determinants on the H and L chains and Fab and Fc fragments. The L chains of the chicken and pheasant were antigenically identical whereas the quail L chains reacted only weakly with the other two. It was concluded that the antigenic structure of QG was much more different from either CG or PG than CG or PG were from each other. The H chains of each of the IgM's shared antigenic determinants.
