Transfer of Skin Homograft Immunity with a Plasma Factor
[摘要] Passive transfer of skin homograft immunity was achieved in mice by injection of a small volume of plasma from grafted, x-irradiated, syngeneic donors. After injection of plasma, the mice received a skin graft from the same strain as those placed on the plasma donors. Recipients of plasma from irradiated, sensitized donors showed a marked acceleration of rejection as compared to controls. Neither plasma from grafted, non-irradiated mice, nor plasma from irradiated, non-grafted donors could transfer sensitivity to normal recipients. The plasma factor has been shown to be specific. Passive transfer of sensitivity could also be achieved with normal isologous spleen cells which had been incubated in vitro with plasma from grafted, x-irradiated donors. The nature of the factor responsible for transfer of this immunity remains to be determined.
