Immunologic Detection of Single-Stranded DNA in Adeno-Associated Satellite Virions

[摘要] Double diffusion experiments with antibodies to single-stranded (s-s) DNA confirmed physicochemical data that adeno-associated satellite virions contain s-s DNA but the DNA extracted from such virions is double-stranded. Positive immunologic reactions of intact virions with sera from man and mouse with “autoimmune” disease and specifically immunized rabbits are consistent with the hypothetical role if viruses as immunogens or as the antigenic participants of immunecomplex vasculitis.
