An Immunogenic Polysaccharide-Protein Conjugate

[摘要] A galactomannan isolated from the dermatophyte Epidermophyton floccosum was covalently linked to bovine γ, globulin by reaction with 2, 4,6-trichloro- s -triazine (cyanuric chloride). This polysaccharide-protein conjugate induced humoral antibody formation in the rabbit. The antibodies gave precipitin reactions with the polysaccharide, with the conjugate and with the 7 globulin. Absorption of the antiserum with γ globulin left. a preparation of antibodies that were specific for the polysaccharide. Hyperimmunized rabbits also developed cutaneous hypersensitivity to the polysaccharide.
