[摘要] Availability of LOU Strain Rats. The LOU/C strain of rats spontaneously develops “ileocecal immunocytomas” which produce Ig paraproteins including IgE (Bazin et al. J. Natl. Cancer Inst. 51: 1359, 1973, Bazin et al. , Eur. J. Immunology, 4: 44, 1974). The tumors are most easily transplanted in the LOU/M strain of rat, which are histocompatible with the LOU/C rats, but with higher reproductibility and very low incidence of ileocecal immunocytomas.Interested investigators in the Western Hemisphere are advised that breeding pairs of LOU/M strain rats are now available from: Dr. Carl T. Hansen, Small Animal Section, Veterinary Resources Branch, Building 14A, Room 104, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland 20014. Animals bearing the IgE-producing tumor IR162 are available from: Dr. Henry Metzger ARB, NIAMDD, Building 10, Room 9N206, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland 20014. Those outside the Western Hemisphere and those desiring the LOU/C strain or other immunocytomas should continue to contact Dr. Hervé Bazin, Experimental Immunology Unit, UCL 3056, Clos Chapelle-auxchamps, 30, B-1200 Bruxelles, Belgium.
