The Biological Assay of Tetanus-Toxoid

[摘要] 1. 1. Dosage-response-curves have been employed in comparing the potency of various tetanus-toxoids. The potency of the preparations was expressed in terms of a standard, thus obviating the use of animal standards. The method permits of the computation of the limits of error from data supplied by the test.2. 2. Mice and guinea-pigs were found to be equally satisfactory test-animals as judged by the limits of error and by assay of the same material on both species.3. 3. The method demonstrated that there was considerable variation in the protective qualities of a number of tetanus-toxoids purchased on the market.
