Induction of Cross-Tolerance for Contact Sensitivity by a Non-Immunogenic Chemical

[摘要] 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (D c NB), a non-immunogenic chemical, when fed to guinea pigs 21 days before attempted contact sensitization to 2,4-dinitro-1-chlorobenzene (DNCB), induced tolerance with respect to contact sensitivity to DNCB. The tolerance was specific since D C NB induced no tolerance to citraconic anhydride under similar experimental conditions. Guinea pigs which were contact sensitive to DNCB did not cross-react to D C NB. The theoretical and potential practical implications of these findings are discussed.
