The Influence of Calcium, Magnesium and Cyclic Adenosine 3′,5′-Monophosphate on the Mixed Lymphocyte Reaction
[摘要] EDTA inhibits lymphocyte transformation in the mixed lymphocyte culture reaction as it does in PHA containing cultures. The effect is most likely due to binding of Ca++ and Mg++ required for the initiation and completion of the response since transformation does not occur in cultures deficient in these ions. Exogenous cyclic adenosine 3′,5′-monophosphate (cAMP) can potentiate or inhibit the mixed lymphocyte reaction depending on concentration and duration of exposure. The possible interaction of divalent cations and cAMP in lymphocyte transformation is discussed.
