Production of Pulmonary Lesions by Influenza Viruses in Immunized Mice
[摘要] Influenza viruses produced severe pulmonary lesions in mice immunized by intraperitoneal injections of the homologous agent. With inocula of 108.3 E.I.D. of CAM virus, pneumonia resulted which was as severe as in control mice. Immunized mice challenged with only 107.5 E.I.D. of influenza A or B virus initially developed lesions to the same extent as control animals, but maximum consolidation did not result. Although some viral multiplication probably occurred, it was postulated that it was the original quantity of virus inoculated which caused the lesions in immunized mice.
