The Susceptibility of Mother Mice and Pregnant Mice to the Virus of Foot-and-Mouth Disease
[摘要] Experiments revealed that certain pregnant mice and mother mice nursing young were susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease virus produced in cultures of bovine kidney cells. Removal of the young 1 or 2 days before inoculation resulted in a decrease in the susceptibility of the mother mice. Regardless of the amount of virus inoculated, a maximum of about 40% to 70% of the mothers were susceptible, whereas others displayed no sign of infection.
