Studies of Blood Group Antibodies

[摘要] By a combination of chromatography and ultracentrifugation, isohemagglutinins and isohemolysins have been separated into various molecular types. Isohemagglutinins are associated with S7, γ2-globulins, S7, γ1-globulins and S19, γ1-globulins. The possibility that the antibody spectrum also includes β- and α2-globulins cannot be excluded. In general, the isohemagglutinins of the S7 class show maximal activity in the presence of anti-human globulin serum, whereas the S19 isohemagglutinins are maximally active in sodium chloride solution. Isohemolysins are found associated with S7, γ2-globulins, and with S19, γ1-globulins.
