Studies on Antibacterial Factors in Mammalian Tissues and Fluids

[摘要] The bactericidal system for B. subtilis occurring in rabbit and human sera has been characterized further by demonstrating that two nondialyzable components participate in this system. Component I from rabbit has been purified approximately 90-fold. Component I from rabbit will form a full bactericidal system with component II from human serum. Component II activity was demonstrated in guinea pig, sheep and dog sera. Lysozyme has been excluded as a participant in this system.
