A Note on Anaphylactic Behavior in the Paramoecium

[摘要] Paramoecia were sensitized by treatment with an anti-egg-white serum, and the response on treatment with egg-white was shown to be analogous to that in the sensitized smooth muscle. Likewise, the reaction to dilute barium chloride solution was strikingly similar to the anaphylactic response, suggesting the contractile substance as the mechanism of the reaction.
