The Rapid Production of Immunity to Ricin

[摘要] Our results indicate, therefore, that guinea pigs receiving a fatal intraperitoneal injection of ricin may be saved if, at the same time, they receive one to three subcutaneous injections of a weaker ricin solution. The animals which survive develop ulcers at one or more of the sites of subcutaneous inoculation. These ulcers appear at the end of four to six days and disappear within another seven.
