The Intradermal Test for the Virulence of Diphtheria Cultures

[摘要] 1. 1. The intracutaneous test for the preliminary standardizing of diphtheria toxin was found to give satisfactory results.2. 2. Also the intracutaneous test for determining the virulence of diphtheria cultures was found economical and efficient in experienced hands.3. 3. The cutaneous lesions associated with mixed throat infections furnished valuable aid in determining whether virulent or avirulent diphtheria bacilli were present or not.4. 4. When the cutaneous lesions were marked by rapid necrosis and abscess formation an examination of the subcutaneous tissues was helpful in deciding whether diphtheria toxins had been formed or not.
