Studies on Cultures and Broth Filtrates of Staphylococci. II

[摘要] The reactions of different types of rabbits to different types of filtrates are summarized in table 1 and confirm the findings of Burnet (2) and Parker (5) that immunity can be induced by intradermal injection of staphylococcus filtrates. This immunity manifests itself by a change in the skin reactions and a decrease in the lethal effect of toxic filtrates. Variation in reaction of rabbits is associated with the rabbits reaction to barium sulphide depilatory and probably the heredity of the animal.
