A Solid Phase Radioimmunoassay for the Diagnosis of Human Hydatidosis

[摘要] This report describes the application of solid phase radioimmunoassay in the diagnosis of human hydatidosis. Using plastic tubes or plastic cups coated with pure Echinococcus antigens (EA) and incubating with 125I-radioiodinated human anti-EA IgG and appropriate amounts of hydatidosis sera, we have demonstrated a competitive inhibition of the 125I anti-EA-binding reaction. The sensitivity and the specificity of this test was compared with the radioimmunoelectrophoretic, passive hemagglutination, and radioimmunoprecipitation tests. The solid state competitive binding radioassay offers clear advantages as regards the other tests so far utilized. Sensitivity as well as specificity is very high so that this method can be considered the test of choice in the serologic diagnosis of human hydatidosis.
