Charcoal As a Carrier in a Rapid Slide Agglutination Test for the Detection of Antibodies to Adenoviruses

[摘要] Specially prepared charcoal particles have been found to promptly adsorb specific adenovirus antigens to give a stable charcoal-antigen complex that is agglutinated by type specific antiserum in a rapid slide agglutination test. The titers obtained in the agglutination tests were closely correlated with the titers of the neutralization tests with 45 human sera. Charcoal particles are suggested as carriers for other antigens.
