A SIMPLIFIED TECHNIQUE FOR THE SWEAT TEST IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF FIBROCYSTIC DISEASE OF THE PANCREAS

[摘要] A simplified technique for the collection of sweat is described. The body sweat from 21 patients with fibrocystic disease of the pancreas and 50 control subjects with a variety of other conditions was analysed for sodium and chloride content. A significant difference between the two groups in these examinations was demonstrated. This method was compared to a method of collection previously reported and found to be of equal value from the diagnostic standpoint. It is felt that this technique will make it easier for smaller institutions and pediatric services to use the sweat test as a diagnostic measure in fibrocystic disease of the pancreas.
