A NEW ARRANGEMENT FOR HOSPITAL SERVICES: THE PARENT-CARE PAVILION

[摘要] At a time when institutionalized patterns are being vigorously questioned in many aspects of American life, health care is no exception. Although changes in the hospital care of children have been slow in evolving, possibly because of the lack of the potent goad of economic necessity, a number of alternatives to traditional practices are appearing, including sophisticated ambulatory facilities, traveling clinics, home care programs, day hospital care, and observation or temporary "hold" wards.The motel-like facility described by James and Wheeler in this issue adds another dimension to health services for children in regional medical centers.
