DOCTOR, PATIENT, AND FAMILY IN COMPREHENSIVE PEDIATRIC CARE
[摘要] There are many definitions of comprehensive pediatric care. Elsewhere in this issue, Bowden and Rothenberg have described one aspect of in-patient comprehensive care which is usually not stressed. The fruitful cooperation of the pediatrician and child psychiatrist can make possible effective care of the sick child which would otherwise be impossible to achieve. In the case described by Bowden and Rothenberg, a strictly medical problem could not be handled without attention to "comprehensive" pediatric care. This called for understanding of the patient disease, attention to and understanding of his socio-psychologic problems, and a knowledge of age-appropriate responses of the patient.
