SHORT TERM MANAGEMENT OF A CHILD BEHAVIOR DISORDER

[摘要] A seemingly obstinate case of refusal to be toilet trained in a four year old boy was treated by brief counselling of the mother. The interpretation of her own conflict was the major factor in the reversal of the child's problem. The rather striking results are discussed in terms of the parent-pediatrician relationship and the pediatrician-psychiatrist team work. The effect of bringing a psychodynamic point of view to bear in the elucidation of intrafamilial tensions is evaluated.
