HAZARDS OF TECHNOLOGIC ADVANCE

[摘要] ELSEWHERE in this issue appears an article on hazards relating to the entrapment of children in refrigerators and their potentialities for obtaining release. This represents an excellent application of a developmental approach to a significant hazard. It also provides interesting and important data concerning reactions of children to a specific stressful situation.This study points to a great need in our modern, industrial society. As technologic advances continue, it is well to evaluate these in relationship to potential hazards. As pediatricians we have a specific responsibility to point to hazards relating to children.Industry too would do well to consider their responsibilities to society more specifically.
