GILDED ANTIBIOTICS
[摘要] THE COMPETITIVE struggle between producers of antibiotics has recently placed emphasis on a supposed virtue of newer derivatives in achieving higher concentrations in the blood faster than previous products. Among the products being promoted as possessing this doubtful advantage are minor combinations or mixtures of the parent antibiotics or their more soluble derivatives with such agents as citric acid, phosphates and glucosamine. Typical of these gilded products are: tetracycline and citric acid (Achromycin V®), tetracycline phosphate complex (Tetrex®, Sumycin®), oxytetracycline and glucosamine (Cosa-Terramycin®) and triacetyloleandomycin and glucosamine (TAO®).The insignificant extent to which these adjuvants can be credited with producing increased levels of antibiotics in the blood by the new mixtures has been discussed elsewhere.
