TRAINING VERSUS EDUCATION

[摘要] Medical schools overvalue training and undervalue education, the cultivation of scholarship and the critical mind . . . recent suggestions in regard to universities would downgrade their function to providing appropriate job training and limit those permitted to undertake research to goal-oriented inquiry. This would emasculate the humanities and yoke science to the study of useful technology.
