Comment on rubella controversy

[摘要] The publication in this issue of the paper by Modlin and his colleagues1 of a review of five years' experience with rubella vaccines is accompanied by a commentary by Drs. Weinstein and Chang discussing the need for further studies of the problem in view of specific questions raised in the commentary. As indicated both in the paper and in the commentary, there has been some controversy as to the best manner in which rubella vaccine can be used to prevent infection of fetuses and the subsequent problems associated with congenital rubella. The members of the editorial board consider it essential that responsible questioning of current policy occur.
