In particular, the University of Michigan-Flint is an improtant economic contributor to Flint and the surrounding areas. This study will show the economic impact of purchases made from local businesses by the university, faculty, staff, and students; purchases by local businesses from other local sources in their support of university -related business, and local business stimulated by the expenditure of university-related income by local individuals other than faculty, staff, and students. This study is concerned with defining the economic impacts of the university on its local environment. It models and measures the economic impact of the University of Michigan-Flint, on the City of Flint, and the surrounding areas of Genesee County.
