THE FORTY-VOLUME, TWENTY-YEAR INDEX: SOME REFLECTIONS

[摘要] AS advertised in the September issue, and on page i of this one, a cumulative index of Pediatrics, 1948 through 1967, is now available. A similar index for the first 20 volumes appeared in 1958. Rather than limit the new compilation to the next decade only, all 40 volumes have been searched for this one. Besides listing their entire contents within one cover, this process has made for uniformity of citation. Considering what has happened to the value of the dollar, and recalling the price of $7.50 for the 62-page index of 1958, the price of $16.00 seems not unreasonable for the 218 pages of this new one.
